Centers for Spiritual Living - 2017: Values-Based Spiritual Living - Vision and Planning Process

2017:  Values-Based Spiritual Living - Vision and Planning Process

The Cultural Integrity and Evolution committee is proposing another voluntary grassroots theme for 2017 of Values-Based Spiritual Living.  The theme is based on the our organization’s values stated in our Organizational Design Model.  These monthly values focuses are being presented in collaboration with Science of Mind Magazine.  See the Monthly Themes Overview for the complete year program.

As we plan for 2017, the committee recommends that Centers and groups with Centers for Spiritual Living engage in a creative and visionary process:

  • Invite a groups of people, between 12 and 48 is ideal, to participate.
  • Print out the 12 month’s themes on 11x17 paper and ask people to self select which page they want to work on.
  • Ask them to evenly divide themselves so that each page has an equal number of participants.
  • Print out the directions on 8.5x11 paper and give each one to each group.  After adequate time has passed for each group to complete their assignment, ask for a spokes person to give a brief report on their process and results.
  • Invite someone to type up the results of all 12 pages and share the results with this committee if you choose.

Here is how Santa Rosa has started to vision and plan with Practitioners.  Next is with the general community.  We are encouraging the Ministers, Leadership Lay Person and Practitioner Councils of our movement to do the same, and we are encouraging local Centers to do the same.

Eventually, we will enroll ministers to create suggested content resources to share with everyone.

Dear Santa Rosa, Center for Spiritual Living members,

We want you all to know how gratefully appreciative we are for being selected for the monthly love tokens that you are sending us throughout 2016 for feeding the homeless communities.

It is unfortunate that we cannot be with you today, however we wish to tell you a little bit about who we are and what we have accomplished in the communities that we serve.

Our ministry was established in 2006 for the express reason for feeding the homeless and providing prayers of encouragement with comfort, love and respect.   Our mission is to strive to be a beacon of light in our community and the homeless community by meeting human needs and being an open-door church actively reaching out and welcoming all persons.  In order to achieve this mission, we provide food, clothing and other essential items to the homeless and less fortunate.  We exist by carrying God’s words of love, giving and serving by a committed group of people that fellowship with the homeless.

With the monthly love tokens that we receive from your church, we purchase additional food, fresh fruit and water to reach more people.

We partner with other non-profit agencies that provide health fairs for HIV/AIDS testing, blood pressure and diabetic checks and more.  We participate in the annual peace and non-violence season programs and the annual walks.  We also opened our doors to sponsor Open Mike Night for young artist to display their talents for however wished to attend.

We continue to look for new ideas on how to improve and expand our services to the homeless.  We do hope that you will enjoy the picture slide show that we have sent you.

If you wish to secure our mission statement, please contact Jerry Huffaker or Georgett Eggel.

Again, we are forever grateful to you all and we all bid you peace, love and light in your lives.
