Community Outreach - Center for Spiritual Living, Laguna Woods

What does your Center's community outreach look like?

Here's Center for Spiritual Living, Laguna Woods response:

We have been doing an outreach of giving Payless gift certificates for children's return to school. This year we partnered with them and gave 33 certificates for $22 dollars each. We also give unwrapped gifts to a Shelter for their Christmas "store"  where mothers and children pick out gifts for each other. We are going to call our projects From Our Hearts to their Soles.

What is your community outreach up to these days?

Center for Spiritual Living Westlake Village says:

Our current outreach is in tandem with Lutheran Social Services, and our center feeds the homeless once a month. We also having an ongoing Manna food bank and someone from our center delivers the collected food every two weeks to help fill their shelves. Our tithes, every other month, go out to the community: Food Share, Manna, Casa Pacifica, Lutheran Social Services, the San Fernando Valley Mission Homeless Shelter, and the Mary Magdalene Project, to name a few

Building Baltimore on a Spiritual Foundation

From our Center in Baltimore:

Greetings!

I promised you that I would keep you posted on what I'm doing in support of rebuilding Baltimore. I'm attaching a flyer which announces a lecture on Saturday, 9 May at 2:00 p.m. The topic is: Building Baltimore on a Spiritual Foundation. I'm attending and introducing the guest lecturer.

My Center also hosted the Director of YES, Youth Empowered Society last evening. We will support their seasonal events as a spiritual community and individuals of the Center will volunteer beyond the Center's commitments: https://www.facebook.com/YouthEmpoweredSocietyyesDropInCenter

We are energized and excited to treat and move our feet!

Sincerely,

Rev. Michele Synegal

Working With Your Board - A Free Resource for New Thought Communities

These videos are designed to be watched whilst taking notes in a PDF workbook (http://1drv.ms/1vmtetu). However, if you’re reviewing these videos alone there you could watch a video or two and review the notes to get a sense of the training experience.

I’d start by reviewing a few of the videos.

Kinship With All Life: The Global Vision of Centers for Spiritual Living

Our Animal Kinship Ministry is doing a public service project to support Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach.More than 1100 stranded sea lions mostly pups have been treated by marine mammal centers in california. Scientists suspect that these emaciated pups are leaving the rookeries in search of food after their mothers failed to return to nurse them. We are donating supplies and money.

The Global Vision of Centers for Spiritual  Living states:

We envision a world in which we live and grow as One Global Family that respects and honors the interconnectedness of all life; a world where this kinship with all life prospers and connects through the guidance of spiritual wisdom and experience.
